Most cafes I've been in seem to discourage the bringing in of donkeys (and other equines).

I have never seen a sign in a cafe window saying "No Donkeys". Maybe I frequent the wrong class of establishments?

Her cafe, her rules - buying a pot of tea doesn't give you any entitlement, so it's good manners to remove it if she asks, whatever her reason.

She might be open to a friendly suggestion to keep a couple of tea cosies in though - she just might not have considered it before if it's not a popular request. I don't imagine they're expensive are they?
