Call me crazy, but I bought these just to find out what happens...

Am I a fool?!

  • You're a fool (no hard feelings though)

  • Fair play for giving it a shot...

I sent the seller of Boardman CX bike, a question on how they bought it from Halfords. This is their reply:

Hi, friends,
I have for your shipping products,
I believe the product will bring pleasure.
And I promise you will receive it in 25-35 days,
You know the product is very cheap to sell you.
So we can not provide tracking numbers.
But do not worry about any problems.
We can contact the post office at any time to contact the current arrival position and tell you.
Make sure you will be happy to use.
Thank you

That is EXACTLY what I have been sent TWICE (!) by this Ebay seller. Isn't that funny.
I guess we've sussed that this is a scam, off to Ebay Customer Protection I go...

EDIT: After the estimated arrival date (14th June  )

Curious that America doesn't use the irregular past tense 'spelt', but retains ones like 'plew' (pt of 'plow', i.e. 'plough'). 'Dreamt' is another that is nice, compared with the humdrum 'dreamed'.

I like that corpus ability, BTW. Thanks.
Try lit and lighted. The Saint always lighted a cigarette but times have moved on.

You should visit Rotherham. Bet and tret as past tenses of beat and treat for example.

I bought a bike off eBay , it took me over 4 months to get it sorted , I was eventually sent a bike , the frame was correct but he had put the worlds worst wheels / brakes / components in it , it was not road worthy , lost a few bob on that deal. I only ever buy now if I can go and view .
