It does look like a bonding issue with the tyre and not a slash, personally I would take it back to the shop you bought it at and get them to raise this with the suppliers as thus might effect others as well.
the angle and striaghtness looks suspiciousluy like the threads in the carcass are laid at; I would guess it is a trye fault as oppose to something external cutting it.
always good to get it back to the manufacturers otherwsie how will they know if they have a manufactring issue.
