came off the bike tonight, on mud. good old farmers mud.
the road was so bad that a car had gone off into the ditch. two other cars had stopped to help, one on each side of the road causing a nice chicane effect
yeah i saw the hazards, and my attention was on the car in the ditch as i rode past. next thing i know im on the floor.
some guy comes up and says " there's mud everywhere mate, i just lost my car in the ditch". no sh1t
now i really sympathise with the guy who crashed his car, and its nice of people to stop and help, but what kid of people park in such a way as to cause a chicane on a very muddy road. i politely pointed out that they may want to move their cars before there was another "incident!
so Ive been down the hospital and i've got a sprained wrist and a few cuts and bruises. only light damage to the bike.
my helmet took a bit of a knock and is slightly compressed on one side. no doubt saved me from a good split head, so gets your lids on people.
at the end of the day you have to take the occasional knock on a bike, but im now in pain and out of pocket to the tune of a new helmet...
good Samaritans my arse
