Aye, next job on my list is to upgrade my LB to LiFePo4. The current AGM works ok with the solar, but it wont run the Webasto all night on its own so a bit feeble for off grid.

We've got 5 days camping in Scotland, but we've gone for 'hookup' just in case the weather is bad and we can at least have a fan heater on in the evenings. But, having hookup is quite expensive, at lease another £5 a day, but you can see why, when you see some people's set ups - electric city !

We were on a pop up site in Whitby a couple of weeks ago. Blimming annoying having one neighbour running a generator for a few hours, then another running their van for an hour at a time twice a day. Just why? Blooming hate generators. Similar happened when we were at Shell Island last time, the guy near us ran his massive motorhome for an hour 2-3 times a day - he certainly hadn't sorted out his solar.

A farm can never be wild, it is already tamed. Hookup used to be a caravan only thing on some sites. Many sites do not have hookup and some are arrive on foot or by bike only.

The only issue with the pop up sites can be the state of the loos, especially if other campers aren't clean. We always carry the porta potti - usually for night use as the time we didn't take it, MrsF fell down a pot hole in the dark and broke her foot.

This field we are going to, gennies are banned. It will be peaceful or I’ll complain and get my £17 back.

You are unlikely to be allowed the fire pit this year. Most sites have banned them due to the tinder dry conditions.

We are allowed as we checked and the area is lush green still, not everywhere is brown dry.
