You've got a jet engine attached to your bike (turn the volume up and you can hear it). Cheating doesn't count! ;)

Oh and bit of a naughty maneuver at the end, undertaking at the bus stop, tsk tsk! I'd get pelters if I did that! ;)

They should paint some cars and lorries as well to stop the other road users getting jealous. And maybe a 'bent for Mikey.

It's a good reminder to cars that bikes may be there. I'm just curious as to the thinking behind just bikes and no other markings.

They're similar to sharrows in the US (but without the directional arrow) and they are increasingly being used on our roads to raise awareness of cycling/cyclists. I like them, but I'm not naive enough to assume they're going to make a huge difference to driver behaviour.

I don't like that they're only painted on some roads. I want drivers to expect and look out for cyclists on all roads (or rather all public highways).

True, but I think they are a better use of paint than the vast majority of cycle lanes!

...but still a waste of paint.

I don't know. Having the signs on the road at least brings cyclists within a whisker of the drivers consciousness. It might also reduce the likelihood of a driver having the 'cyclists shouldn't be on the road' attitude.

Driver: Get on the cyclepath!
Cyclist: According to the signs on the road I am on one!
