Well I had decided to ride the full 20 mile journey home tonight. Except I just realised I've forgotten my water bottle.

Would I be asking for at the least discomfort and at worst disaster if I attempt this?

Actually having typed this I realise there'll be an open LBS on my way I could get a new bottle from ... but they are an expensive LBS.

Hmmmm.

20 miles is just enough to work up a nice thirst for the first tea stop. Why would you want to spoil that?

as above,
If you need, just buy a can of coke/water whatever and put in your jersey pocket/bag etc very simple solutions really

I shall see what prices are at the LBS and if I can get a cheap bottle I shall do it! Otherwise it's bike on the train time, like a big wuss.

Also I need to sort my cleats out.

If the weather up your way is anything like it is here, you only need to open your mouth...

There are associations nowadays that will help you go days/weeks/months/years without a drink, all you have to do is admit your problem and seek help
