Love and kisses on the bottom from Alan Freeman. Not Arf !!!
I was completely unaware of how offensive it was at the time and Love Thy Neighbour, Benny Hill, Please Sir was borderline dodgy. Mind Your Language, On the Buses Guess there is a reason none of these are on Dave! Would have been 12ish at a guess. This horrified me at the time. A lot of British content appeared on Australian TV and I'd often sit and watch with my parents. I wouldn't stay in the room when this was on.
Was it really acceptable, even in the 70s?
(I'm not saying Australian TV is perfect.)
Wikipedia says it started in the 50s. That makes more sense. Was it really acceptable, even in the 70s?
I can remember it in colour on Saturday nights. Mainly remember turning it over because I had to act as the remote.Wikipedia says it started in the 50s. That makes more sense.
Assuming you are being sarcastic, why single her out?Olive was a looker though.

A friend who lived in there until recently, was telling me how appalled he was when they released a film called Wog, and then Wog 2, I believe. This horrified me at the time. I remember walking the the TV really slowly when my dad told me to change the channel from something I really wanted to watch.I can remember it in colour on Saturday nights. Mainly remember turning it over because I had to act as the remote.
No offence intended but the lass who played Olive in On the Buses was exceptionally comely.
That word have been reclaimed in Australia. I'd explain it, but last time I did my account was suspended.A friend who lived in there until recently, was telling me how appalled he was when they released a film called Wog, and then Wog 2, I believe.
Have we done sweets made to look like fags yet? I used to love those.
