can you take the plates of these ?

They look (and say) SPD compatible.
Use a blade to score and rip off with a pair of grips.

so ok to buy em? , look ok to me and i wear a 42 normally gone a size up for wide feet/socks

I would try a pair first. Winter boot's and cycling shoes in general seem to have different sizes & fit's even though they say the same size. I wouldn't buy a pair off ebay unless I knew that they would fit.

I have tried defrosters and they were too tight in the right size, these are 1 euro size up

Well they came this morning and feels like they are a spot on
A bit bright red but for what i paid for them i am happy .
