things I can attach to bottle cage mounts? Apart from bottle cages

I've found myself with a spare pair of bottle cage mounts. It's a long story, which I won't bore you with.

What other things can usefully be attached to bottle cage mounts?

If you have a couple of band on bottle cage fittings, you could attach a great long LWB recumbent bike to them.

What then, you might ask? You could get some 10mm aluminium tubing from B & Q, flatten out the ends, and with careful bending round various formers, make a trouser deflector to keep the chain off your trousers (or vice versa!)

I use an Elite tool bottle to store mine, also has a separate upper compartment which stores a pair of liner gloves. Lives more or less permanently on the bike except for when the weather is like we're getting at the moment, when the cage actually houses an additional water bottle!

I have a folding lock that comes with a plastic holder and I have it fastened to the mounts on the lower side of the down tube. Keeps it nicely put of the way without taking up room in a bag.
