PS, I'm sorry I'm not as good looking as my Avatar, who is beautiful even though he is a male! If I'd have been clever with Photoshop, I'd have substituted his face for mine!
I did the Kennet and Avon from Pewsey to Reading last Friday and, by heck, it might be a canal but it was hard riding at times. Grass or hard packed gravel with big climbs at each lock.dan_bo said:It's a canal.

Not sure if I made it clear but I was on the bike for my trip. I did about 45 miles on the tow path, although it felt like I had done about twice that.Campfire said:How far was yours Norm? I don't know that part of the world. Yes, surprisingly the little rises to the locks get harder as you go on.
Combination of my maiden name & my mother's (one of which is translated into my 2nd language as the alternative didn't sound nearly as good) - strangely enough I found it wasn't taken (even on, say, Yahoo - rather than being *name*+*number* that normally is suggested...). Also a fairly bizarre sense of humour which would only work on a fairly small subsection of the (global) population (and which I'm not going to explain).Campfire said:SavageHoutkop (how did you get to that name?)
