hi Folks

wondering how to fix this. the front derailleur cable (top) does not seem to have any housing to sit in. The rear derailleur cable is jammed in and doesn't move (making me think there is a metal housing inside the frame for the ferrule to sit in)
i had the other ferrule jammed in but when you try to shift it just gets pulled into the frame.
had to believe this would be the design. not sure how it has worked for so long, unless the housing has broken inside somehow
any ideas....

EDIT: ok whoever built this bike is a muppet, the cable should be running down the other side of the bike where there is a housing for it. just checked it there.:banghead:

You’ve already spotted the issue the front derailleur cable was routed into the wrong guide. It should run down the other side where there’s a continuous housing liner for it. For the rear cable that’s stuck, try pulling the cable out completely. There’s likely a separate, full-length housing inside the frame for the rear. If it’s jammed, the housing might be kinked or the cable corroded. Replace both inner cables and housings, making sure each runs down its correct side. A bit of grease on the new cables will help.
