I do like the Canyon range of cycles and as I “liked” them on TikTok I get lots of Canyon vids to watch. I do like the Canyon city bike the Precede:ON Comfort 7 and looking at the spec I came across how would you replace the toothed drive belt? I expect if you owned one it would be easy peasy. Are there many Canyon owners on the forum, they seem very well made?

You'd unbolt the seatstay/chainsaw join. Recessed Allen bolt accessed from the underside 8 O'clock position.

Usual far eastern suppliers, but frames painted and final assembly in house so they've a fair degree of control over fit and finish.

I'm on about 12,000 miles on my Inflite8 CX.
Lovely bike to ride & it's what I did my LEJOG on, (though I ride a lot less these days due to a knee issue)..

No major problems, just the usual consumables.

We have one of those in the family. Now discontinued, I think. A recent search didn't bring it up. Anyway, replacing the belt is easy. Drago gave instructions. However, Your worries for replacement are premature. In my Gates drive bike, I'm now approaching 20k kms and it is still on the original belt. The belts come in three specs of durability, mine is the highest, I must say. Not sure now if the Canyon has the high-end belt or not. Still, it has done a few thousand and hasn't even required an adjustment. In my view, belt drive is the future for utility bikes, in spite of the higher cost and need for a special frame.

Is it well made? No. The welds look like Blu Tac worms wrapped around the frame and the battery cover fits like a Morgan car's door. The battery charge port in the frame is covered with a rubber cap that doesn't fit and teh light is mounted under the stem, depriving you of the only place to hold onto the front end of the bike when picking it up to put on a carrier or stand. Lastly but most annoyingly, the grips are made from some super sticky monkey snot. If you just slightly brush past the bike it grips your clothing and either pulls your lycra shorts off or topples the bike.

Also, the medium frame has a smaller battery than the larger frame, causing a bit of range anxiety.
