Mini Mayfair 1000 - Bought for me by my grandparents when I learned to drive and has been tuned and modified over the years. Fun and reliable. I still have it but it's currently off the road awaiting restoration having finally succumbed to rust (well, it is 30 years old).

Morris Eight Series E - bought because I wanted a classic car to take to shows. Loved it when it was running, hated it when it wasn't (which was a lot) and I never did take it to any shows.

Rover Mini Cooper - Gave me six years of fun but when I got made redundant I had to choose which mini to keep - this one lost. I do miss it loads but it was the right choice.

Transit LWB high roof - bought to transport my rickshaw. It was slow, noisy, occasionally wouldn't start, loads of hassle and handling in slippy conditions was a joke. I sort of miss it.

Suzuki Vitara - I bought this off my brother when I got rid of the Transit. It's been fine and the four wheel drive is nice to play with have in the winter.

In addition to the above I'll also mention a Morris Minor Traveller and an MG Maestro that I purchased for my parents to use. Both were a mistake to buy but the Minor was at least a fun one (while it lasted).

This is about half my list. The ones I can remember-

Ford Corsair
Triumph Spitfire
Ford Granada (Sweeny!)
Ford Cortina (smashed it up the week I bought it)
Triumph Dolomite Sprint ( smashed that up but after about a year)
Rover SD1 (Loved it but it kept on breaking)
Triumph TR7 (heap of S*** - sold it a week later)
Renault Fuego
Another Triumph Dolomite Sprint
VW Polo (it had been eaten by a dog (everything inside) and I got it as a do up project)
Lancia Dedra (Alfa 155 with a Lancia badge on it)
Vauxhall Omega Estate
Peugeot 605
Mercedes C Class Estate (Made redundant so it had to go)
Peugeot 406 estate
Mercedes E Class Estate

I would really love to own an Alfa at some point but at the moment only have space and money for one car. So it has to do everything.
I also really want a Jag. Older ones are a bit Arthur Daley and modern ones are rather horrid inside so ended up with the Merc. Plan is with the Merc to keep it for a good 10 years so hopefully will not be adding to the list. I don't like the newer model so not tempted to change.

The Astra Coupe wasn't available until 2000ish, how did you get one 3 years early? Lol

Unless you are from SA where they got the mk3 saloon in turbo form?

10.Vauxhall Zafira 07 plate from new 1.6 same as the other but nicer paintwork and interior.
11.Vauxhall insignia 10 plate probably my favourite car it was the exclusiv model which is entry level but still had a fair few toys on it and so comfy to drive and had the 2.0 cdti engine in it so had some poke.
12. Vauxhall Astra 13 plate 2.0 cdti elite in black my present car.it has heated leather seats and all the toys it's lighter than the insignia with more bhp but there was something about the insignia that just made me happy with it.

Ford 2.0l MK2 JPS Capri (was my mothers, I learnt to drive in it)

Ford 1.8 Diesel Focus Estate ('have a bicycle commute now' car)
Volvo S40 2.0T
Peugeot 406 Diesel

I was thinking that. My list spans 1977 to now.
The list starts in 1981, but I was road legal in 1987. I have owned a fair number of cars though, often two simultaneously. I also haven't listed my wifes cars in here (aside for the 323 which she swapped for the 4Life when she realised rather than hate it and fight me buying it at every juncture she loved it and wanted to do every journey in it. The 323 was a nutter bastard model and I hated it, then it died very expensively.)

Car history:

Vauxhall mk2 Cavalier 1.6l
Vauxhall mk3 Cavalier 1.6gl
Ford mk4 Escort 1.8i Ghia
4th gen Honda Prelude 2.2i VTEC (epic car for a 19yo!)
Vauxhall mk3 Cavalier 2.0i CD (got this for free whilst I still had the Prelude, broke it and sold it all within about 2 weeks)
Vauxhall mk3 Cavalier GSI 2000 16v
Vauxhall Omega MV6 (did a swap for the GSI, regretted it, luckily the owner agreed to swap back)
Vauxhall mk3 Cavalier GSI 2000 16v
Vauxhall Vectra 1.8i LS (driving ban with above car so needed something cheap for insurance purposes)
Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 SRI (stole the GF's car)
Vauxhall Corsa 2.0 16v (converted the 1.4 to a 20XE 'redtop'...aka the pocket rocket)
Vauxhall Astra Coupe Turbo
Vauxhall Astra mk3 Estate 1.7TD (again, another freebie that I picked up on the side that I moved on after a couple of weeks)
(New) R53 Mini Cooper S
Ford Focus Estate 2.0 TDCI (first child came along!)
E30 BMW 325i (weekend car, still have this)
E46 BMW 320d SE (wife's car, still have this...but not for long as kiddie number two is on the way and need a boot again)

The above doesn't include company cars:

Toyota Corolla Verso 1.8i
Citroen C4 1.6 TDCI
Ford Focus Sport 1.6 TDCI
Audi A3 Sportsback 2.0 TDI S-Line (Current car, love it!)

I think that's everything, as you can see...I used to be a Vauxhall man, now it would appear I'm a BMW man. Sorry. lol

Ah crap, knew I forgot one!

Both cars were bought to flip:

2004 Astra 1.7TDCI Club - bought from my employer for £500 as it was past its best. Spent £250 on it and sold for £2250. Boom!
1990 Toyota Celica 2.0 GT - bought for £50. Spent about £80 on it and sold it to the local scrap merchant for £20 lol....Was a HG failure and unfortunately was still a HG failure even after I replaced the HG! -Boom!

^^ Reminds me of when a friend told me she had a Mini, and when I said 'which one', looked a bit taken aback and said 'a green one'.

It's vaguely interesting how people tend to keep to makes, specifically they rarely flip between Ford and Vauxhall :-)
I had a 1500 Spitfire. Great fun, and the easiest car to work on that I ever owned.
Mine was a 1500 too. You're right, great fun to drive. In comparison to today's cars the performance was pathetic but much much more fun to drive.
