We have 3 vehicles, all needing insurance renewal about now, just been looking at quotes for 2 of them and both are quite a bit cheaper than last year.
Is this a general trend or is it because I've turned 65?

Mine looks cheaper too this year when getting quotes. I'm old too (nearly 56). Can't think of any other things that are getting cheaper these days..

it was her fault , overtaking a parked vehicle and she misjudged the gap ... panicked and hit the accelerator damaging every panel down the nearside of the car enough to mean they need replacing.

That doesn't mean you won't get the blame. They always find a way.

My renewal quote went up by about 12% so I did the usual thing of running my details through the usual comparison sites. Nothing had changed apart from ticking over to 60 this year and I was getting quotes over 20% lower than last year and even big name companies were 15% lower.

I've just swapped my Admiral insurance policy from my Fiat 500 to the Vauxhall Adam I've bought and will be collecting on Sunday. I was quoted something daft like £490 by the lowest priced insurer online. My current Admiral police was/is £295 which would've gone up automatically on the 7th of April by only £3. I was expecting a something crazy increase of £100 or more, so £3 was quite welcome. To change my insurance from my Fiat 500 to the Vauxhall Adam is only costing me £10.50 which is a welcome surprise. My Fiat will still be insured till 11.59pm on Sunday, to cover me driving it the 4 miles to the car dealer's.

My car insurance renewal price was up ...I had not expected that but it's the first renewal since I turned 70. It was with Lloyds Bank (I know it's only a front) and so I traveled around and got better price for better terms now fronted by Santander.

Motorbike(large scooter) insurance was up a bit but frankly was for next to nothing last year so I just renewed.

House insurance went down .
