My chain got stuck between smallest chainring and carbon fibre frame.. The paint chipped in one place and there is a half mm scratch in another place..

What is the chance that it damaged the carbon fibre? In the chip think the carbon fibre is exposed.. It doesnt look damaged to..

I am planning to seal this with Araldite...

Don't use araldite. Just primer and paint from a touch up kit, I reckon it will be okay. Invest in a 'dog fang' chain catcher as well.

Hey some more pictures.

Does it look like a structural damage to the frame or just deep paint chip?

Could this damage the frame?: )

Finally why souldnt I use aldarite?

I am not an expert but I would say don't use araldite, you don't want anything to aggressive and cause more damage.

Maybe get some advise from your local bike shop.

Happened to me when I used to have a plastic bike expect mine was caused by a popped spoke in the rear wheel.

IIRC I touched it up with some clear lacquer and TBH it didn't seem to get worse, but it was always in the back of mind very time I rode it after that

Thanks.. ! It's my first day I got this bike so.. times are tough!

I don't see any damage to the carbon just a bad nasty paint scratch..

Is nail varnish safe for carbon fibre?

I am thinking either clear nail varnish or Humbrol Enemel Matt Black model paint.

Or should I go for like car touch up paint from Halfords?

I've always used nail varnish to touch up minor scratches on carbon fibre forks.

Hmm my "scratch" is kinda big..

I think I will go with clear nail varnish since its the easiest one to obtain.. any remarkable brand? ;)

Thanks for your help guys. Much obligated !

hmm for spray I would probably need to sand it down.. maybe I should just go with nail varnish...

Would epoxy resin glue be not a good primer? ^^
