Carbon + latex?

I’m thinking of putting Victoria latex tubes in carbon rims. I’m pretty sure all latex brands say not for use with carbon wheels. I’m also pretty sure people ignore this. Would you risk it? I can’t see the problem as long as you don’t cook the rims. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Oh, I'm disappointed, I thought this was going to be a fetish thread.

If you're doing a long descent then there could be issues. Normal riding, then it's usually OK. I use them in carbon wheels, as does son no. 2, without issues.

Will be flat chain gang route mainly. Thanks DCLane.

I need my tube to have an extra 5 mm or so on the valve. Is that a 40mm or classed as a 48?
I have a deeper rear rim to be awkward.

No way, they are all rubbish. Puncture easily and harder to repair. Lose air nearly as bad as latex.
I think they will be good in a few years when quality gets better.

I don't think you're right. I haven't put air in my Tpu tube for three weeks or so since I put it in.

Latex is a lot worse for losing air.
