It will be on the side of the tire, you've not given a great deal of information tbh!
And from that info you can purchase the corresponding tube size as well!

but it will also be marked on the side of the tyre somewhere

If you’re using your bike on the road only you can go down to Hybrid tyres from 42 to 38 , 35 or 32 if you’re careful.
my preference would be 35 or 38 X 700

What sort or valves do you have Schrader (like a car) or presta (long, thinner, gold with a little valve that you unscrew)

halfords do loads of tubes, just need one that covers 38-40 (it’s one or the other not both). Just go to your local branch and ask them (given it’s one of their bikes)
