I am planning to go on my first real ride tomorrow and have just realised I have nowhere to store my keys and mobile... My jersey has some pockets on the back but I don't know how well they will keep things in...? Can anyone suggest good methods of storage on the bike?

Only take your front door key. The rest don't matter. Tie it with a bit of thin nylon cord to your bike somewhere.
Ditch the phone. You really don't need it.......OK, stick it in a sandwich bag and duct-tape it to the bike ditto.

Ok haha I don't plan on riding upside down, just worry about it flying out but I guess it won't. Will probably look into and buy a saddle bag. I only want/need my phone is because it has my Srava app on it.

My jackets have zipped pockets but keys i would suggest a saddle bag this is because if you come off your bike the keys could puncture your body.

Those essential items could easily be stashed inside another piece of essential equipment........your helmet.................

Slightly off topic. Why do people need to carry bunches of keys? Isn't the front door key the only one that needs carrying? Why lug around the shed key that you needed twenty years ago, or all the rest of the security crap that accumulates? On the bike, I need front door, cafe lock and sometimes a D-lock. The rest is ballast.

Spare tube, tire levers, multi-tool, chain repair kit, front light battery (if needed) and a small cafe lock in my saddle bag, pump attached to the frame. I'll put my keys, a bit of change, and phone in my jersey pocket. If your jersey fits well they should be held snug to your body fairly securely, and you won't even notice them.

As above, I hate carrying around big bunches of keys so I have my keyring set up so that I can easily remove my front door key, cafe lock key, and strangely a bottle opener, to reduce bulk.

Wow I don't have any of that! How much would the tube levers, multi tool, chain repair and pump set me back do you think?

I have a small wedge bag that clips onto the back of my saddle. When I bought it three years ago, it came with tyre levers, a puncture repair kit, and a complicated multi-tool. It cost £4.99 from Lidl. I still use the saddle bag and the tool.
You really don't have to spend a fortune on these minor bits and bobs. Save your money for your bike.
