My biggest failing in life.
If only I could do the stuff that needs doing.
At work we call it “ bottom-of-the-pile-itis”
As anything tricky just gets put to the bottom of the pile.
When I was made redundant my manager was rather horrified to find out (after I was told) that I had a "Things To Do" list running to 3 pages
and a lot of them involved significant savings to the company
I reckon it cost them about a million over about 5 years to get rid of me
I reckon the manager's manger made sure no-one else found out how many risks they were taking and how much they could have saved
but that was a SEP (somebody else's problem) by then!
(I did find that they had had to duplicate a whole computer system to deal with extra credit card stuff
the people I used to work with denied all knowledge of how to change it
the guy who told me this - in a chippy near my Mum's house - was not surprised when I told him it was a change to 2 characters in one program!)
