Drop the front inner to a 28, it'll give you nearly as low a gear but not have such 'jumps' on the back when climbing.
This ^^^.
Swapping out the 30t for a 28t chainring (likely 74mm BCD) is very easy and has the same advantage (ie gear length) as swapping out an 11-28 for an 11-30). I do this when I'm heading for a hilly long ride (eg https://ridewithgps.com/routes/29823510 ) and saves the complication of fiddling with the B screw to get guide jockey wheel clearance for a 30t sprocket. No need to change the chain either: going to an 11-30 will probably require an extra link and an 11-32 certainly will. If you inadvertently shift small to small the chain, rubbing on the fully folded cage, will soon tell you to shift to the middle ring. The normal triple FD copes with the slightly smaller chainring, with no problem.
ETA: Swapping out the complete chainset is not easier, and much more expensve. And just beware that the current FD is optimised for a 50-52 large chainring and so going to 46-36-26 will mean the curve of the FD cage is less well matched (it'll still 'work') and you'll have to shift the FD down the downtube/braze on to keep the distance from bottom of the cage to the top of the large chainring about 3mm.
