Dumpy (the name is for a reason) has developed quite a thirst since Christmas, is hungrier than ever, and has lost almost 1kg. Yes, he has diabetes. Insulin starts tomorrow.
I am quite annoyed as I know a neighbour has been giving him extra food for years. She fed him when we were away in the summer and he put on a pound in a week! From now on it's two meals a day with the injections and nothing else. He's fairly early-stage so it may well sort itself out, especially as he's not a bad weight now. The dose of insulin will be very low to start with, the vet says.

We had 'coons which were very big but nothing like as big as that, even allowing for wide angle lens perspective
