The train does head down in that direction. Would be a shame after looking forward to a trip through lovely scenery and meeting with wonderful company the poor little cake wasn't allowed out to play........

Nothing surer... I'm going to pack my waterproof troos/jacket and hope for the best! (Okay, maybe that smilie is a little optimistic!)

I'm afraid it's a no from me ... have a great day out, hope your waterproofs will keep you cosy & dry!
DIY for me today & associated collection of brownie points, and hopefully a wee ride at some point (east is best today, not west)
Very sorry to miss out on catching up with you all , must sort out the waterproof situation urgently.

Remember to take lots of pictures of the lovely scenery, the wonderful company and any poor little cakes that you'll no doubt be demolishing somewhere along the way !

I don't ask for myself, I'm not averse to a lot of rain (so long as I can jump straight into a bath without having to wait for trains or such), but there have been a lot of last minute cancellations (I wrote my post before you posted your pulling-out message!).

It does look quite grim out there...

The prevailing sentiment here at present is "have some coffee and think about it". I (or we, depending upon how Gill feels after a coffee) will still go to the SECC and meet whoever turns up at 10.

I propose we meet and attempt: got the route on the Garmin, so if me or Gill need to bail out because youse are too fast, we will not get lost
