Central Heating - on yet?

It's occurring to me I am tolerant at both ends of the temperature spectrum.
Love heat, summer, sun etc and equally while I hate winter for its gloominess and am often hunched up in a coat, I dont like too much heat on the house during winter partially at night I enjoy getting Into a cold crisp bed.
The only concession I've made over this last couple winters is to wear thick house socks through the day.

Still not on here. As I sit here at the moment my Nest thermostat tells me it’s a comfortable 21 degrees C in the living room.

I have handmade wool sweaters so it will be a while before the heating goes on.

I have to say that the thought of getting romantic in a cold lounge with someone swaddled in thermals and jumpers and sitting on a hot water bottle whilst wrapped in bacofoil, is not very appealing. 😁

On the other hand, nice background heating with an open fire 🔥🔥🔥 is utterly glorious for a kiss and a cuddle etc. 💋♥️😍

Heating hasn't been on for months, lounge is a comfortable 22 degrees tonight.

Not yet, and I don't like too much heat anyway, but this will be my first winter in my A rated new build flat with heat pump heating system. I will be interested to see how it all works in practice.

I've been resisting putting the central heating on so far and instead I've bought a heated throw. £60 from Argos which is abit pricey but it works really well on the odd time's I've used it. It draws around 150 watts so at my guessing it costs around 8p an hour to run on full wack. When winter really kicks in I'll keep the thermostat low and use the throw to keep me warm in the evenings

Yesterday I put my living room radiator on to semi dry a silk pocket square, before ironing it.🧐

We have had the heating on for an hour about twice so far

House seems to hold heat pretty well - especially the lounge - so an hour will keep it warm for the rest of the evening at this time of year

In the mornings I generally have the patio doors wide open to let fresh air in and get cooking and other smells out from the previous day - so I wear a jumper
Then my wife gets up and everything has to be closed!!!

Apparently we have to leave the patio door open for hours each day until the kitten masters the catflap. It's okay so far, but the weather is gradually turning cooler....

I think that you are teaching the kitten to take the easy way out! (Why would it bother to use the flap on an already open door? )

That was my thought; close the door behind it when it goes out and let it figure the rest out for itself.
