I don't think the OP meant track fork ends, such as you find on a purpose built fixed/single speed frame.

You might be able to bodge regular tugs to fit, I had a go without much success: probably need to file off the back of the dropout.

Way back when, they were commonly fitted and they occasionally come up on Ebay, but go for a good price. Try searching for "Cyclo" chain tugs.

They're not absolutely necessary and you only need one on the drive side if you do use them.

Would I be correct in assuming that your concern is having the wheel pull forward and out under power or is it simply to get the right chain tension? If the former then I would suggest some decent track nuts as a first defense, 'decent track nuts' have a flange that moves independently of the nut and you can tighten these up quite hard on steel.

I use a Surly Tuggnut on the sprocket side of my Langster:

Not cheap but cheaper than trying several others and then ending up buying a Surly one because they didn't fit properly. If I'm honest it's not 'necessary' but I like it.

And yes, I have used it to open beer bottles.
