Challenged by Accy fuzz yesterday about my 'erratic driving'. I've now heard it was probably a case of mistaken ID!

Mark my words - another month of this and Accy will have a book deal and be in the Big Brother house chatting up a weather girl.

Yeah, Accy's already grown tired of his last conquest

There I was on the local Tesco carpark, having a rest in my car after feeling a bit dizzy when a police car came onto the carpark. The car pulled up next to me and the solitary officer got out asking if I was OK on seeing me struggling to get
out of my car, wobbling a little. I told him I was OK(ish), but wasn't a hundred percent great. He asked if I needed an ambulance, thinking I might be having a stroke or something. I declined the offer knowing how long it'd take for an ambulance to arrive, also telling him I'd had a virus and circulation problem lately which affects my co-ordination etc. He was very helpful, even offering to run me himself to A&E, but again I thanked him but declined, saying I'd be OK after a short rest. He asked me if I'd be OK to drive home, then called base to do a vehicle reg' etc check on my car. I could hear the one receiving the call telling the officer that everything was fine, also telling him my address, age and that I didn't have any convictions. I wonder why he asked for such a check to access such details and information? He was still helpful and friendly after the call to base, but I am intrigued as to why he did such a check!🤔

Accy. 2 points if I may.
1) good to see the plod doing thier job. I would have thought that what they did was standard practice.
2) pot/kettle from me here but, weren't you taking a risk in driving with those symptoms ?

Glad that all turned out well for you.

I was OK after the police incident Dave. I had a previous incident in the store, as in someone hassling me, which brought on what I think was a panic attack.

Its what they do. Hes now interacted with you, and if hed let you go on your way without doing the check and it turned out, say, it was a stolen car and you smashed into a bus stop full of nuns, orphans, and Nobel prize winners hed be in deep do do.

Normal procedure to check, but I'd be concerned you were driving already having been feeling unwell. Virus and unsteady doesn't make for the best reason to drive. Look after yourself. The officer must have thought you looked poorly to stop.
