Ive not had a problem with Taxi drivers here, theyre a little impatient but try to give a decent amount of space most of the time 
Im looking after my neighbours cat at the moment (not that he really needs feeding), hes 7.5kg iirc and hes a longhair so looks like a dog, he has serious trouble getting through his catflap too. Theyve tried to put him on a diet but he eats elsewhere too.
