Cut a piece of inner tube just shorter than the torch and pierce it an inch or so in from either end. Wrap another piece around the bars to give a grippy, scratch resistant surface to the bars. Push one end of the torch into one end of the pierced tube and then pass the tube under the bar, and push the other end of the torch into the pierced hole at the other end. It grips surprisigly well and is adjustable. Not for OCD sufferers, but cheaper than eBay mounts!

Three hours later I'm still re-reading this and scratching my head!

Do you mean you put one end of the torch through one of the piercings, pull it around the bar the put the other end of the torch through the other piercing?

I used a brand New inner tube for wheels I no longer own... To zip tie my light to the bike with a lack of finesse that would make even the baby Jesus cry.

Yes, the light does come with a charger, as well as a mount, two batteries and a rear light.

Here's an extension tube for the Ultrafire C8 - the KE1 is made by Ultrafire as a direct copy of the C8 for Keygos, so I suspect it should work, although I haven't tried it myself.

I believe @MattHB of this parish has an extension tube for his KE1, so perhaps you could ask him.

The light also pulls in and out of the bracket really easily, under 2 seconds to take it on and off, so taking it off is no hassle.

hi! I got mine from ebay, but watch the thread diameter, there are LOTS of variations.

Right, listen carefully
Cut a piece of inner tube about the same length as your torch. The torch already has a piece of inner tube round it as I use it as a helmet light, and the tube stops the alu scratching the helmet finish. For the cognoscenti it's a Conti 700x19-25 round the torch, and a Halfords own brand 26x 1.95-2.2 for the mount...... The torch is an Aldi 3wCree circa 2010.

Next, use a sharp knife to pierce the inner tube about an inch from both ends. For the cognoscenti it's a Blackfox Zytel liner lock knife in Ti finish.

Make sure the hole goes all the way through.... for the cognoscenti that's my left forefinger....

Push one end of the torch through one end of the inner tube. You can see the new 2012 3w Cree Tesco torch on the table , already clad with inner tube for helmet mounting....

Pass the inner tube round the handlebar (Easton EA50 low rise, 25.4 clamp, 635mm, for sale, tenner. Scratched)

Push the end of the inner tube mount onto the back of teh torch, pull tight to ensure a snug fit.

What if I haven't got any 26" tubes?

Nice one cubist, might be worth reposting that as a separate thread for people who don't look at this one
