Woudl't go leaving any lights attached, however cheap. Costs do add up. Best look for a Q5 torch or T6. Aldi have some for £11.99
TBF, in my 15 years of cycling I've only had one light stolen, and that was in the secure bike shed at work! We di have a bike light black hole at home though! We lose more bike lights than socks round here!

I like the look of that one, does it come with a charger? Where do you get the battery extention tubes from?

Yes, the light does come with a charger, as well as a mount, two batteries and a rear light.

Here's an extension tube for the Ultrafire C8 - the KE1 is made by Ultrafire as a direct copy of the C8 for Keygos, so I suspect it should work, although I haven't tried it myself.

I believe @MattHB of this parish has an extension tube for his KE1, so perhaps you could ask him.

The light also pulls in and out of the bracket really easily, under 2 seconds to take it on and off, so taking it off is no hassle.

I like the idea of using an old inner tube, did you sort of tie the light on?
Cut a piece of inner tube just shorter than the torch and pierce it an inch or so in from either end. Wrap another piece around the bars to give a grippy, scratch resistant surface to the bars. Push one end of the torch into one end of the pierced tube and then pass the tube under the bar, and push the other end of the torch into the pierced hole at the other end. It grips surprisigly well and is adjustable. Not for OCD sufferers, but cheaper than eBay mounts!

Ooh, might have to try this when I have read it a couple more times

Cheers Cubist: you just saved me saved me some money, as I was going to buy another couple of mounts.

That's at least three virtual pints you've earned from board members with that post!

What's keeping you? I've already read it a dozen times

Here's an example. The tube passes through the helmet vents in this pic, but under/round the bars has the same effect.

As said above AAA`s will not give you the quoted lumens, according to the cree website your going to get about 100 lumens and it certainly will not last a long time as AAA`s do not have the storahe capacity.
The LED chip might be rated at that power but its not getting enough juice to produce that output.
I run 1200mah AAA and they last a week on flash in my cree light , if i used it on full power i would need to charge twice a week and even running 2 it was was only just enough to see the road.
Compared to lights running 18560 batteries they do not cut the mustard i am afraid
Well, the cree I bought - as I said, from a local hardware shop - came with a rechargeable 18560 battery, the only reason I've put the AAA's in was so I could carry the charged 18560 as a spare, then alternate.
Did not realize there was a difference in light output: tbh, the output from the AAA's is enough to see my way in a dark park, that's all I need.
Might swap to the 18560 on my commute tomorrow, startle a few foxes
