Brilliant!
Though I haven't got any old inner tubes. Will a new one do?

Right, listen carefully
Cut a piece of inner tube about the same length as your torch. The torch already has a piece of inner tube round it as I use it as a helmet light, and the tube stops the alu scratching the helmet finish. For the cognoscenti it's a Conti 700x19-25 round the torch, and a Halfords own brand 26x 1.95-2.2 for the mount...... The torch is an Aldi 3wCree circa 2010.

Next, use a sharp knife to pierce the inner tube about an inch from both ends. For the cognoscenti it's a Blackfox Zytel liner lock knife in Ti finish.

Make sure the hole goes all the way through.... for the cognoscenti that's my left forefinger....

Push one end of the torch through one end of the inner tube. You can see the new 2012 3w Cree Tesco torch on the table , already clad with inner tube for helmet mounting....

Pass the inner tube round the handlebar (Easton EA50 low rise, 25.4 clamp, 635mm, for sale, tenner. Scratched)

Push the end of the inner tube mount onto the back of teh torch, pull tight to ensure a snug fit.
