The last few weeks I've taken a day to just explore some new areas to ride around where I'm presently living. So today was one of those days and I enjoyed not knowing what was ahead, and just cruising around finding new places.

Over the last year or so, I've been gradually ticking off all the roads within cycling range of home that I hadn't previously ridden on.

I've pretty well exhausted them (and myself) now, and just started the same exercise with bridleways (thank goodness for 32c tyres) ...

reminds me of my teen years. how did I ever wander so far & find my way back home w/o cell phones, GPS or even a map?

There's a looping lane which goes to nowhere which intersects my commuting route. It links five farms back to a B road. It's a 7km stretch with lots of hills and two fishing lakes. Brilliant views by all accounts.

I'm having a go at 5.00am tomorrow.
