And how did the first ride go:okay:
She look's a mean beast now you have to tame her.

Cheers, she looks lovely in the flesh, freaking awesome.

The first ride... Well put it this way, it was like being a little kid again playing out on my bike. I even forgot to go home to eat due to doing repeated laps around my town

It's blimmin quality to ride a recumbent, especially a trike, I scared the sh1t out of a running group that were training at one point as I was cackling so much, and it was dark I suppose.

Drivers were a completely different breed to usual, I even took her onto the main road in the dark to give it a go... They were almost respectful in their overtaking .

But slower than I wanted to be, but that's my own hubris at not accepting that I would have to work to get my bent legs .

It's due to be delivered any moment :hyper:

And would you Adam and Eve it, on my drive back from work just now I saw the first recumbent trikist ive ever seen in Wiltshire.

I'm not the only one in the village

I reckon it is well worth stretching at least your quads and hamstrings after riding - especially in the early days :okay:, as you develop your 'bent muscles'. :training:

I'm inclined to aggree with this. Particularly hobbling round work on Wednesday.

Still, I felt faster today when I went out, but tbh enjoyed it five times more.

I miss my Catrike 700. I remember once when I had a couple of roadies in my mirror for a few miles. They eventually caught me at a set of lights and they were absolutely knackered, but they'd chased me down for a conversation. I hadn't even broken sweat.

I can just about hold off a fit roadie on my current Trice, but I really have to work for it. Then again I have my trusty Raptobike for every day commuting, and it's so much faster that dfs that it's almost not fun as its so easy when 'racing' against others. After you've got a few hundred miles under your belt, you'll be faster than you ever thought possible.......and the downhills!

I hope so :hyper:, the wheel nv guy certainly though so. I've ridden about 150 miles on her so far^_^, not had the chance to race any roadies yet, but had a couple of points where I've overtaken some and they've given it the beans but not caught me up. It's a freaking lovely, lovely machine .

My only gripe is that the roads around the shire are generally sh1te, like really bad and the duranos feel like they are made of wood. So to keep her safe I've shod her in some squishy kojaks all round.

I think the racing roadies bit may have had a bit of a setback this weekend though, having spent it in Sheffield watching Mrs P defend her swimming titles. Generally I've spent the days filling the tank with local porter, Guinness and fry ups, so much so that I checked the weight limit on the catrike website :mrpig:

I went for marathon racers up front, a lot comfier than what it came with. A wider marathon plus on lower pressure made the back more forgiving. Mine had the 16 inch fronts, but I think the later machines came with 20 inch fronts.....a lot more tyre choice.

Yeah, loving the little 406 wheels on the front, after discovering the small tyre shop!

On my third ride I put a part worn gp4000s I had hanging in about in the spares bin on the back in 25mm, ran it at 80psi... Felt ten times plusher and a little bit quicker, that's what prompted me to get the kojaks.

THis is really true. I've been riding my bent exclusively for a couple of months and I have deffo got less flexible in the hams. Though that could be general lack of conditioning and stretching due to my frozen shoulder. So I may be talkin' bolux!
