It's that time of year again, when I'm allowed, without tuts of disapproval from Mrs_R, to indulge in my love of the food of the gods that is ....Cheese.

Blacksticks blue and Cambozola are a couple of my current favourites. especially with a smear of redcurrant jelly, or on a sweet digestive biscuit.

I've heard it's good on Christmas cake too, but we don't normally partake (however I will be visiting my sister who always has fruit cake of some sort at this time of year, so I might just get to try it)

Not having cheese at this time of year is just wrong, after all Christmas is all about the birth of Cheeses of Nazareth, isn't it?

Pecorino cheeses are unbelievably tasty. They’re made from sheep’s milk.

I normally have pecorino instead of parmesan in Italian dishes.

I’m a massive fan of it. I’ve found a little stall run by an Italian family in Borough market in London. They do a version topped with sweet olives. I make a journey up there deliberately to get some for special occasions.

Whenever we're in Malta I like to stock up on the local Gbejniet which is a soft peppered sheeps milk - slightly tangy like Wensleydale or Lancashire cheeses, but with the added bite from the pepper. Nomomnom...

Cracker Barrel, i know but its just fabulous..
I like a lot of cheeses but sadly they can be a migraine trigger as is one of my other old favourite.
I wish i could have a good bottle of Red with some nice cheese..but that would do me in for all the xmas break.

Pecorino is one of my favourite cheeses too - but I can't find a decent one here for love or money. An acceptable alternative is Etorki - a sheep's cheese from the Pyrenées. Any sign of Etorki in the UK ?
