The Wirral Way between Neston and Wallasey is best avoided at weekends and Bank Holidays, unless you like disentangling dogs and children from between your spokes. The section along the sea from from Hoylake has an excellent triple lane system, .

Between Neston and Hoylake the wirral way is mostly a very light gravel, if it's been raining it can get a little muddy, but it is generally easy enough. I've never ridden it on my road bike, but I have seen plenty of people down there on them.
