Those seem to be front bicycle seats so probably not. I think I will go for a trailer, but I will wait a bit.

Carbon fibre... LMAO!!!
I towed my two girls around in a trailer for years and they loved it.
Drivers gave me so much room it was as if I was pulling a nuclear bomb behind me. It never tipped over or came loose but it had the potential to. Take corners with care and keep an eye on the fastenings. They're better these days though.
You need to be sure your kids can support their own heads weight although that would apply to child seats too.
The thing about trailers is that they'll be protected from all but the worst weather. They can take their teddies/dolls and munch away on snacks in complete safety.
That trailer was used for everything from taking the girls to nursery/school to picnics and shopping trips.
Bloody brilliant things!

I've used all 3 odes back in the day, for little un's the front carrier with windscreen (and leg cover below it) was awesome and, as the weight is carried between the bike axles, the most stable for the bike. and awesome for communicating with them. The are also reasonably protected as they sit within your arms so to speak.

I replaced that with a simple seat on the cross bar and foot rest on down tube when they were older which was good stability wise, but marginally awkward pedaling as and when they got bigger, but less of a pain than a rear seat for when they weren't using it.

If it were daily use I'd prob have gone with trailer or rear seat for the bigger ones. Used both on holidays, trailer was a hoot for the kids but more expensive than rear seats. Rear seat all the kids see is your back.

bigger still I had a tandem kicking around which they also loved, but rarely helped with with pedalling

I once saw a drunk bloke riding an eBike with a trailer across a field. The bike had no mudguards and there were little stones being flung up at the toddler in the backseat.

The kid wasn't crying, but it didn't look fun.

I think that windshield might make things very tricky on a windy day TBH.

Oh, and I'm selling an Elephant bike/Pashley Pronto/Mailstar soon. I go to Newbury quite often, so delivery is possible. Capacity for 20KG in the front basket, 40 on the rear rack. No-maintenance brakes and a centre kickstand and an easy to step over frame - ideal!

I got a bike trailer. Adrian is not keen. Yesterday there were real tears on his cheeks when I went to pick him up from the nursery and he saw what he was expected to travel home in.

So how was he by the time you got home?

He had settled down a bit by then.

If you leave a couple of sweets / treats / snacks in trailer for him to discover for the way home he will soon be diving into the trailer quicker than quick Jack McQuick!

He had settled down a bit by then.

Good to hear. A few rides and he will relax and learn to enjoy it.
My lad took to it straight away and loved it. I used to also pick him up from nursery, on a Friday and it was a highlight of my week to pick him up and take him to a park.

After upgrading my MTB to a 29er, the rear child seat no longer works.

I splurged on a kids ride shotgun seat (went for the 2.0 for the much more rapid removal)

the nearly 3 year old is a huge fan, much more so than the rear seat.

The industry standard Hamax clamp on rear seat does not fit if the seat tube is very low, the top of the wheel/mudguard is very high, there are multiple cable stops welded onto the seat tube, or if the seat tube is not a simple round tube of sufficient crush strength.
