Its a slipperly slope...autumn equinox, Halloween, bonfire night, Christmas. Hell, the easter eggs will be in sale before the end of November.

Luckily, hot cross buns are year-round now, so some good comes of it.

A house around the corner from us does a big display every year for charity , they have been working on it for about 4 weeks now its about 80% finished , it gets loads of visitors every night and raises quite a lot for the chosen charity
We have a Christmas Lights contest in the village three categories..
Shop (1)
Pub (1)
Houses (@ 200)
The shop and pub always win their categories. Every year
Roy the Sausage has won for 'best house lights' this six years past.
Consequently, Roy the Sausage is mildly resented in some quarters.

Miss Goodbody loves Christmas Eve,It's the best time of year. She stays up all night. She has a carrot for Rudolph,a plate of mince pies and a large glass of something strong for Santa. She says it's a shame he only comes once a year.

I would quite happily burn the whole lot on the 5th if November
