Just noting this here in case anyone is considering buying a car through them. We wanted a specific model (5 yr old Audi) and there were none in our area, so we used Cinch. Yes it is more money than buying privately but here is our experience so far:

They let us pay using 4 different credit cards (which are all at 0% interest).
Car was delivered from Corby to our front door (Plymouth) - lead time about 10 days from purchase.
Delivery driver went through all of the controls etc and came with us whilst we did a quick test drive.
After 7 days the car developed a weird noise in the engine bay, possible clutch whine. They sent RAC to diagnose, then booked us in to the local Audi dealer where it's sitting at the moment.
They will repair under warranty - if the parts take more than 8 hours to arrive then we are eligible for a courtesy car with unlimited mileage, until the car is fixed.
Today we got a speeding ticket through the post - we weren't driving, it must have been the delivery driver. We phoned Cinch and they talked us through how to nominate the driver, gave their address etc and said they will sort it out. They emailed us confirmation of this.

So overall, frustrating, but all stuff that was beyond their control. We could have rejected the car entirely within the 15 days but we like it too much so are just waiting for it to be fixed. The staff on the phone where very friendly, personable and went the extra mile to sort it for us as soon as they could. We still have the 90 day warranty which covers everything except wipers and tyres. I actually had to buy a whole set of wipers as both front and back squeaked wildly, but that's ok. I'm more anonyed at Amazon who said next day delivery on wipers, which were then delayed, so I had to buy an extortinoately priced pair from Halfrauds!

We were very dubious of buying a car sight unseen, but my partner was set on buying this model. And so far they've done everything and more that we'd expect. I may update this thread depending on the outcome - don't be surprised if I'm moaning about them in 12 hours time! I hope not.

My Sister bought a car with Cinch, and shes had a pain free experience. Shame it puts money in that Nylon blokes pocket.

I don't know who that is, but yes you've probably got a point. We see it this way; if we'd have bought this privately we'd have probably paid 3 grand less, but we'd have to have paid the amount in full (thus losing money on our savings) and we'd now have it booked in for a new clutch and possibly flywheel which is a grand at least. And we'd also have to collect it from up north. So it is expensive, but convenient with what seems like a lot of protection for the intiial 3 months

They've got a Ford Focus on I would have bought instead of my Peugeot 308, but it wasn't there a year ago so.....

Their cars appear on Autotrader so no need to go direct it seems.

A lot of dealers use Cinch too. Bought my van from a dealer as it was a big purchase and I added an extra 2 year warranty, just in case.

Yes, nearly every car we looked at on Auto Trader was advertised by Cinch. So we just went to their site and did the rest. The Q2 model we wanted, had to have the comfort and audio pack (heated seats, Sonos amp, 16 speakers and sub), so only one was showing within our budget. The alternative would have been a 3008 locally, but we don't like that one as much

Its tough finding the car you want. I really wanted a Suburu Outback but couldn't find one in the spec/price I wanted, a month later my cousin buys one the exact spec and price I want lol.

Quite. Was on the lookout for a year but didn't have the cash in place until I was getting one. Plenty of the exact spec 'down south' but nothing up near Manchester. Then one popped up at a dealer 25 miles away. Salesman said they don't get many in. The car had actually come from around Bristol area, which is where most seem to be from. Added bonus being a 'southern car' is there is less road salt around, so the underside was immaculate.

I remember your interview Mr Lane.

"Oh aye, Cinch, theyre f****** bloody brilliant as far as I'm concerned. Thats a top b****** prize, and no s*******." Nylon had to go for a lie down after seeing it for the first time,
