I am pretty sure Margo Stilley had sex in "Nine Songs", I wonder if she regrets it now?

Not a personal dig.....

But during my school days we were taught that it was usual to have two participants in these sort of things (you can manage with one, and the bend of genders is optional) so why ask if only the actress regrets the scene?

Does Kieran O'Brien regret the scenes?

Did the press hound him over the explicit nature?

People who are eager to believe the voyeuristic fantasies of the key grip have probably been watching too much porn and/or not getting very much sex. You'll find there's a similar rumour attending every well-known movie sex scene.
People who pretend to know the voyeuristic fantasies of the key grip and reckon on there's a persistent rumour attending every well-known movie sex scene seem a bit too keen to appear close to what's going on.

You have explained it yourself, I certainly remember the press reaction, that is why I can easily recall her name, it was all about her. I don't recall anything written about the actor and would never have been able to link his name as "her" partner in the film. At the time, I thought she may regret it, she was very young.

We've done this before. I'll dig up the threads in a minute. Don't Look Now. Needless to say, the key grip told his mates in the pub he'd seen Julie Christie being f****d on that one as well. Although history doesn't relate whether he told his mum. I think Y Tu Mama Tambien deserves a mention too. The pool scene is Showgirls has to be one of the worst (in the risible sense).
From memory, Don't Look Now was pretty sensual.

Ai No Corrida sticks in the memory. Apparently American filmgoers complained most about the un censored blowjob...... but mainly because he was smoking at the time.

The film industry is out there to sell films.

Back years ago a flash of Barbara Windsor's chublies or a sex sciene in a film got into the trailer and got lots of people into the cinema. But the inclusion of the sex scene may have bumped up the classification a bit and cut down the possible audience. People were drawn to an X film so even with a limited demographic more tickets were sold. Back then there really was not much sex for people to see. Pre video we only had what was on TV or the Cinema.
(I vividly remember a naked woman in the TV series Colditz, that must have been a bit of creative writing to get that in the plot)

Now everyone can access any sex 24/7 on the internet. So people are not bothered (especially the young who make up most of the cinema audience) about a bit of main stream sex or nudity. It does not sell films but can cut down the audience by the film still being bumped up to being an 18 or whatever by its inclusion. So given it is not a draw to the film, but reduces the audience the sex scenes are generally left out or at least tamed down to being clothed and really tame to stay a 12 or u rating.

I understand the censorship thing but what I was remarking on in my OP is that it seems to be OK to slam a woman against a wall in this simulated sex scene but not OK to see her breasts.

My all time cheese award is for the sex scene in Shaft (1971). A shower cubicle with double occupancy, Isaac Hayes crooning in the background, vaseline-edged soft focus and ( at the right moment ) gently fluttering fingers. Bingo!

Here's what a critic wrote...

37. Shaft (1971)Gordon Parks's classic action film wasted no time in establishing the sexual agency of its lead character: no sooner had Isaac Hayes warbled "he's a sex machine with all the chicks" in the opening credits, did we see the lead character in bed, generating a fingernail-baring orgasm from his latest conquest.

What's not to like?
