Would the SKS Race Blades or the RoadRacer MKIIs be better for this particular bike, which has neither eyelets nor clearance for full-length mudguards?

Crud Road racers Mk 2 are claimed to be ok if you have a minimum 5 mm clearance everywhere.

You check this by using a 5mm allen key and if it fits between frame and tyre , brake caliper and tyre etc then it should be ok. I had the bare 5mm on my Scott and could get the road racers to work but only just and they needed regular fiddling. I think if you had 6 or 7 mm they would be fine.

They were very effective at keeping the bike/rider clean .

Never used the SKS blades so cant comment on those.

I have used both, and they are both very good but slightly different.
Race blades are great at keeping you dry, but don't protect the front mech, bottom bracket, chain etc... Very well.
Road racers are a lot better at keeping the bike and you dry, bit better protection for front mech etc... I've just gone back to these because of this, but they can be a faff to get them to stop rubbing.

I agree with you about stopping them rubbing I have to adjust mine before every ride

See, I had the RoadRacers on my T3. They did rub at first, but eventually stuck in their 'non-rub' position and stopped doing it.

Went for the RoadRacers in the end, I worry too much about weathering to not cover my drivetrain.
