I was cycling down Creek Road, the road turned to single lane due to road works, I was about a metre out when a Moped Learner Driver overtook me within millimeters. I caught up with him at the lights and asked what that overtake was about, his response was "Oh there was a car on my right hand side, you're all right aren't you?" What a Tw@t! No apologies whatsoever:angry:
Further down the road, Evelyn Street a Black Ford Escort lefthooked me going into a Valetting Place without signalling! I must have been going 10mph as there was lots of traffic. I took off his wing mirror and I was lucky not to fall off but the guy apologized straight away and asked if I was alright and any damage to the bike. Fortunately no damage done to me and the bike. What a day!! Ironically, I was more annoyed about the Tw@t on the Moped.
I'm glad to be able share my experience on here as I cannot mention this Incidents with the Wife as she doesn't want me Commuting by Bike.

It's happened to me so much now that i don't even bother with it. at least 10 times per commute i get a motorbike or moped with in inches of me. it doesn't help that they are allowed in the bus lane which cyclists are weaving in and out off the pot holes...

Unlucky, moped riders are the absolute worst road users out there. I am amazed that they manage to escape injury as often as they do.

I'm guesing this was in London ?

You're right about the Bus Lanes, I find that real Motorbike Riders are sensible. Mind you the Tw@t on the Moped has an L Plate, with his riding perhaps he wouldn't last long in London if you know what I mean.

UpsideDown,

Yes, this is in London and I consider this Route OK and is used by a lot of Cyclist. The only dodgy bit on this Commute is the Deptford area and perhaps Surrey Quays.

Not too many moped riders in my area (i.e. not in London) - although I have had a close shave with a few - usually young lads.

Accidental wing mirror removal - nice one ! (not the left hook though).
