I've never been so glad somebody was a prat, lets hope they throw the book at him (preferably the big one that weighs 2 ton and will do some serious damage ;-) )

Great news!

Oh, and the police had to come back and re-take all the statements 'cos (believe it or not) they'd shredded them as soon as the case was originally deemed as 'no further action'.

Heaven forbid any of us should be unable to produce three years of payslips or bank statements or taxcodes when asked...

Well done the plod. But it seems the alleged offender has done all he can to be collared on this occasion - in spite of the police.

And well done to the complainants for persisting.

Very good news indeed, and top marks to you and your chums for keeping up the pressure!

Let's hope the book is launched.

At the very least, there will be adverse publicity for him I'd have thought...

Well, well…

I for one started watching this thread about a month ago and resisted the urge to add a reply as, frankly, my frustrations were screaming out the words “go torch his friggin shop down!!”

Which I know would have been a ridiculous statement to make…but that’s how frustrated I felt with the lack of action or importance being applied by the local constabulary.

It does however give you an insight as to why some people resort to taking the law into their own hands.

So, Dave, well done for keeping it legit (and for taking the correct, considered steps) and thank you for re-installing in me, a degree of confidence that persistence can pay off.

If you do secure some justice, it will be as a direct result of your (and your friends) approach.

I take my helmet off to you Sir.

Well done. The bloke must be a real idiot not realise that if he had been cooperative and civil to the police his chances of getting off very lightly would have been high. For them to turn up at 4 am he must have really wound them up. Let's hope they lay the evidence on with a trowel.

They may have other reasons for wanting to interview him. If they've failed to get other charges to stick this could be the chance they've been wanting. If that's so, it took 'em a damned long time to realise.

Well it took a while and a bit of persistence but it went to court last week and we got, what I consider to be a fair result in the end.
The driver (who gave the police the run around) got a 9 month conditional discharge and has to pay £200 compensation and £35 costs.
The 'slapper' who turned out to be at Exeter uni, put his hands up and apologised as soon as the police traced him and was given a caution.

I would think this will go at section 39 common assault at most, if anything. Unless anyone sustained any injuries. Sexual assault is unlikely, difficult to show there was any intent, unless the guy has previous form for that type of offence. Incidentally the term 'nonce' is in my experience is generally used to refer to pedophiles. I'm not sure we have established the age of the unfortunate female.

Right, I'm bracing myself for the lambasting which seems to be the hallmark of this forum..:eek::eek:
