Coincidences.....what are your strangest?

I finished solving a cryptic crossword yesterday. One of the answers was APERITIF.

A few minutes later a friend came round for the evening. I made her a cup of tea. We would be having a meal together later but she asked if she could have a square of my dark chocolate as an APERITIF. She had misused the word and it was the first time in the 46 years that I have known her that I have heard her use it!

On two occasions at two separate properties whilst working as a plumber handyman in York ive worked at homes which later sold and ive been approached by the new owners to do work for them. The new owners found me through a leaflet on a notice board and through recommendation. The original owners and new owners had never met or communicated with each other.

I've bought at least one house where the previous owner has left a list of tradesmen, along with the instruction booklets and so forth as a helpful handover.

Or perhaps they were cowboys and he was trying to get even with you for haggling the price down

Had an estate agent round (in Cardiff) sorting out selling my late father's house. Somehow classic cars came up and he mentioned he use to have a Gilbern, which had been his father's but rather regretted selling it. I mentioned I'd seen one recently in Bristol and it was an estate car version, a bit like the Reliant Scimitar. "what colour was it ?" "green". I showed him the photo on my phone, and it turned out to be the very same vehicle

I doubt it as he'd also left a bottle of milk and a bottle of cava in the fridge to welcome us to the flat

One place I worked, I refused to work overtime.* I relented twice
The first time during a normal week(Monday - Friday), they stopped the overtime the next day.
The second time it was working on a Saturday. The same day the place burned to the ground.**

**The following two weeks saw 99 hour weeks done(Not including breaks), and down into 80+ hours by the months end.

*Time and a third wasn't worth what they were paying, nor expecting for the extra third.
