Aged about 12, I had gone into town one Saturday afternoon when I spotted a frind from school. As you do when you are 12, I decided that the appropriate greeting was to run up and leap on her back - piggy back style. Imagine her terror and my complete horror when it turned out to be a complete stranger!
I remember reading once about a girl whose uncle always ate at the same cafe. Spotting him tucking into his fry up one day, she crept up behind, reached over and grabbed a chip, gave it a good wiggle in the yolk of an egg, popped it in her mouth, then a total stranger turned round and gave her quite an odd look...

Why did you give an argumentative person a lift. An ex BFs Granny tried to boss me about in my own car and I told her to get out and walk. I stopped, turned the engine off and everything. Stroppy mare (not sure if the stroppy one was me or her on that day but I had had enough of her)

I've done that. When I was about 9 or 10 I was being picked up by a friend's mum from an after school club, I saw what I thought was her red car, I opened the rear door and jumped in the back, only for the woman and teenage girl to just stare at me. Imagine the shame, I still go red thinking about it now.

When I was about 6, I went with my Dad who was taking an elderly aunt to stay with some friends of hers for a few days when we stopped to go into a shop. I went in to the the shop with my Dad, my aunt stayed in the car. Dad met and starting talking to someone he knew whilst in the shop so I went to get back into the car. Saw a beige MKIV Cortina with the black vinyl roof (very trendy man my Dad) and a grey haired old lady sitting in the front passenger seat, opened the back door and got in. Sitting there for a few minutes and realised the woman in the front seat wasn't my aunt. Our more or less identical car was parked in front.

The OAP never questioned this strange child who got into the back seat of her car, sat there for about 5 minutes and then left and got into the car in front.
