Most of the above haven't been forgotten but it's debatable that they should have been.
Some of the forgotten ones are forgotten for a reason...
Charlie Drake, Harry Worth, Arthur Askey, Ted Ray, Dick Emery, Arthur Haynes...
...to name but 43
Dave Allen was okay.
M&W were definitely a curate's egg.
Humble etceteras...
Jasper Carrot. He appeared every now and then in later life, did that golden balls thing on TV and sank without a trace. A really funny man with that brilliant west Midlands comedy accent.
The Detectives with Robert Powell was exceptionally funny
Might need to dig out the DVD

Jerry Sadowitz never gets a mention on anything nowadays, but largely because of his determined efforts to be seen live or not at all.

Emo Philips and Steven Wright also seem to have disappeared off the UK mainstream radar.

Jerry Sadowitz was very funny. There was a Canadian comedy festival called Just for Laughs that used to be televised. Jerry Sadowitz was supposed to appear on it, but his routine only lasted five seconds before someone punched him for calling them moose farkers.

Emo Philips was very funny too. He was American, but I sometimes wonder what happened to him.

People over a certain age up here still remember him well, but he retired from telly in the late '80s/early '90s, so it is hardly surprising he seems to have disappeared to anyone down south.

He does Panto and I have a sneaking suspicion (although maybe wrong) that he actually has had a cameo appearance or two in things on the telly in the past too.
He usually only participates in the sort of programmes about Glasgow, Scottish comedians and showmen of a past age like Harry Lauder, things like the Glasgow theatres/old dance halls, etc etc. Basically what he grew up with.

Or, this.

He is seen briefly at the beginning (in the blue polo shirt), but only appears properly at 5.28 onwards. Basically, he is just a bit older and greyer than he was, although, I hadn't realised how old he is now - He'll be 90 this year.

Oh and look out for the cycling scene from 11.08 onwards, and 11.43 onwards. It seems nothing has changed :

Hang about.
Silly haircut, silly beard,

That's his choice, so what? And?

He had such a tough, restrictive and abusive childhood that I think he has always wanted to do and wear the opposite of what people think he should, you clearly being one of them.

silly voice

That's how he speaks.

and a blooming laughable three-wheeled motorbike.

Yet again, and?

I know exactly what his response would be, and it would start in 'F' and end in 'f'!

And pathetic jokes....
Will that do?

I was going to say 'each to their own', but I am curious.

Pathetic?? Please explain?

Puerile and so on, maybe at times, but he never stays on a subject long enough and I would rather have him than someone who simply churns out a pre-prepared routine, especially when you hear them doing *exactly* the same jokes on more than one programme:rolleyes:

Oh and he's 'forgotten' is he??
You don't come to Glasgow a lot, do you?? I mean, what a laughable statement (much more laughable than his trike)!

When he dies, Glasgow will practically give him a state funeral! :giggle:
