Are you joking ?Billy Connolly.
Was he ever funny?
Multi talented is the Big Yin, his documentaries like the American road trips are very enjoyable & of course he is belly laugh funny.Nothing to do with his humour, but IMO a very underrated musician too
The Detectives with Robert Powell was exceptionally funny
Might need to dig out the DVD
Max Wall and his funny walk
I wish I hadn't looked it up. I remember him being funnier but in fact he was quite dire
I wish I'd seen "The Little Waster" when I lived up in the North East.

I was on holiday on Crete in the mid 80's. There was a Greek, 2 French, a German Swiss, a Belgian, us 2 Brits and Glaswegian girl. All speaking to each other in English but asking us to translate the Glaswegian.I saw him in either the very late 70s or early 80s in a pub in Newcastle - couldn't understand a word he said for the entire evening. Even now I'd need subtitles.

He was a very funny man when he put his mind to it could do out and out silly funny better than anyone bar Spike Milligan for me. He did a routine about a 2 men on opposite sides of a river one wanting to buy a bridge from the other. Brilliantly silly premise and so funny.I was fortunate enough to be friendly with the organisers of an event with Ivor Cutler back in the 70's when he was guesting on John Peel.
We spent a pleasant couple of hours in the bar afterwards.
He was frequently described as a "humourist"and recognised that description
Whether you consider humourist as a comedian or not is up to you, but he certainly needs to be remembered as funny
Linda Smith.
