Even that isn't true, IMO. My chosen saddle happens to be the squidgiest of all the ones I've tried. I don't think its squidginess actually has any bearing on why I prefer it though. It's just that it fits me.

You can only really go with what works for you, no two people are the same. Once that perfect saddle has been found you stick with it.

I have the sprung 'Bodyfit' saddles - one was £1 from a clearance bin in Halfords a few years ago and is used daily, the other was a fiver off Planet-X and is supposed to be on the other bike, but as that has various other bits missing it's on top of the fridge at the moment. Planet -X still have them at a fiver, they suit me, and the springing is lovely.

Thanks for all the replies, based on the reviews , I’ve purchased the Specialized seat for £25, so hardly breaking the bank if it’s not right. I did the old tin foil trick on the stairs to get a measurement of my sit bones and got the 155 mm one. I’ll post my findings on here after a few rides.

good idea, i was sitting on corrugated cardboard on the kitchen top

my mind is bouncing from looking at saddles, too many to choose from.
