Commuter Bike Conundrum?

Thanks. Yes, I am more than surprised how good it is to ride. Not so windy this morning so contemplating taking it for a jaunt rather than the road bike.

There's a simplicity to it that puts it right there between the sports hybrid and the single speed. Nice clean styling, an uncluttered ethos.

No, it doesn't have frame or fork lugs.

Never understood why the 'Sport' version of the Allez didn't come with lugs. According to the brochure it did, and the models above and below did. Because I wanted to use my 'Sport' for commuting, when buying it my LBS (Sigma Sport plug!) were kind enough to swap all the components onto the frame from one of the other Allez bikes.

Well I think that may have been what I wanted to hear, but I've been back to my LBS and had a very sensible chat!

My Allez is already quite nice, running full Tiagra gs and carbon seat post, forks and wheels off the comp model etc, so all I really need to do for now is add really light wheels and tyres and it would more than suffice as my 'fast' bike for now.
Plus it does look quite attractive for theives, and I cant easily add 'good' mudgards, so I have decided to go with the Marin Fairfax SC2 with some tweeks to use as a daily commuter...... If I'm going to buy a new carbon bike I might as well make a big step up from my Spesh...so that can wait a little while.


However that said, I am going to use the Spesh for a week or so just to how it does on my commute.
