This is 5 steps away from Oxford street, and only a few more away from oxford circus tube station. So a very high footfall area, even at night.
Despite the owner doing everything right, using two different kinds of locks, locking frame and wheels with both locks. It didn't stop the thieves from completely stripping everything they could. Including breaking the rear spokes to get to the rear hub and cassette! they even took the brake calipers and all the cabling!

They must have been very prepared and had loads of time to do this. Just think of all the tools they would need to take every bit off. I havent even taken the BB off my bike yet.

Bloody hell.

You can't lock everything.

I do worry about my bars and stem on the fixed - Ritchey WCS bars and a Ritchey Pro stem - a few quids worth.

Was this done in one night, though?

Plenty bikes I've seen like that abandoned and gradually picked clean. Who abandons a perfectly good bike anyway? Seemingly quite a lot of people.

Saw a quite nice Specialized frame locked to a stand near Victoria once. Just a frame.

I reckon this was someone who lost the lock keys and jumped at the chance of justifying a new frame.^_^

I'm telling you, give me a multi tool that contains 4, 5, 6 and 8mm allen keys, chain tool, a bb tool and a rubber mallet and I'll strip your bike in about 5 minutes.

For free?

Cool, just I've got a bike needing repainting and can't be bothered disassembling it myself.

I can't comment on the time period. although I did cycle past this earlier in the week so I could check my footage to see if it was there then.

I'm not sure any multi-tool has all of those tools in them.

The way you worded your original post implied differently ;)

Wowzer, that looks exactly like my bike - 2012 Jamis Xenith Comp. They even nicked the seat post clamp!

Half decent shimano/fsa kit, although I always did think those wheels were a bit rubbish.

Brutal to look at.

Wow, that sucks. I'd never expect some scumbag to steal my bottom bracket!
