You misunderstand me, perhaps. I was simply pointing out that the place you are currently living is a bigger flat (and one which allows dogs) than the bedsit flat (that didn't allow dogs) where you were happy to keep a bike in the flat, along with the hidden dog.Yes,i'm thinking about moving back to the "fire condemned" place.
And according to posters on CC there are many bikes in sheds that ARE a problem, as in they get broken into and bikes get nicked. The shed would be accessible to the public, even though it's on private land. All it takes is for a few thieves to come along with a flatback van,and lift the shed onto it.Put them in a shed. There's thousands of bikes kept in sheds all over the country without a problem.
How many cases have you heard if sheds being lifted onto a lorry? I bet it's a round number. Fit some ground anchors through the floor of the shed if such crime is a big issue down your way. As it happens my remark was addressing the sheds are damp death to bikes part of your post, I should have been clearer. And according to posters on CC there are many bikes in sheds that ARE a problem, as in they get broken into and bikes get nicked. Not a concern for the OPYes i gave up cycling to work because of all ths things you mentioned.
Spend £400 on an Asgard. Very heavy and bolted to ground.
Where did you say anything about soil?400 quid for a bike shed!!Besides,i don't think you can bolt things into soil.

Besides,if i got a shed put on the grass verge, it'd block some of the below me tenant's view.

We can but hope...Has he jacked it in yet?
