you could of course cycle up to leytonstone (not too far), then jump on the central line tube to Epping, then ride back down the Epping new road - its straight, its countryside its fast, and then get back to canary wharf thorugh the regenerated Stratford

its flat-ish and now has a 40mph limit from epping all the way to buckhurst hill where it turns into a 30.

its not a problem at all. no longer do i have essex morons roaring past at 80/90. they know the traffic section sits along the road out of sight so keep to the limit-ish, and don't pass with mm to spare anymore
